📌 Overview
Demo Mode lets you preview how a module will look on your page and view reviews that are still in draft — before they're live and approved. If your module isn't live on the page yet, you'll need your Shopify theme preview open to use it. If the module is already live with other approved content, you can view unapproved content without needing the preview.

🪜 Step-by-Step Instructions
Option 1: From the Products List
- In the left-hand panel, click Products.
- Find the product you'd like to preview.
- In the Demo column, click the Demo link.
This opens the product page (PDP) with ?hue_demo=1 appended to the URL — this confirms you're in Demo Mode.
Note: If the module isn't already live on the page, you must have your Shopify theme preview open for Demo Mode to work. If the module is already live, this isn't required.
Option 2: From Within the Product
- Click into the product.
- Go to the Product Information tab.
You'll find the same Live and Demo links here, next to the product name.
🟢 Reading the Demo Mode Indicators
While in Demo Mode, reviews on the page will display icons on their thumbnails:

| 🟢 Green icon | The review is approved. |
| 🟣 Purple icon with an exclamation point | The review is in draft mode. |
These icons only appear while in Demo Mode — they will not show once content is live or once you're outside of Demo Mode.
🛠️ Troubleshooting
I don't see the module in Demo Mode
- Check the review's status. If it's set to anything other than Draft or Approved, it won't appear in Demo Mode.
- Confirm you're viewing the correct Shopify preview theme. If the module hasn't launched on your site yet, Demo Mode won't work on a preview theme that doesn't contain the Hue code.
The demo link doesn't seem to be working
- Make sure your Shopify theme preview is open if the module isn't yet live on the page.
I don't see the status icons on my reviews
- These icons only display while actively in Demo Mode (indicated by
?hue_demo=1in the URL). They won't appear on live, non-demo pages.
