🔗 How to Use Content Mapping

📌 Overview

Content Mapping allows you to display reviews from one product on another product page. This is useful when you want to reuse existing review content across similar or related products without needing to collect new reviews.

💡 When Might You Want To Use This?

  • Content mapping helps you reuse reviews across similar products.
  • Displaying related products onto a bundle or gift set PDP.
  • Mapping similar reviews for all colorways available.

🪜 Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Access Your Products

  1. Log in to the admin portal.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Products.
  3. Select the product you want to apply content mapping to.

This will open the main product page.

2. Open Product Information

  1. On the product page, click the Product Information tab.
  2. Scroll down to the Review Configuration section.

3. Enable Content Mapping

  1. In Review Configuration, select:
    • Display reviews from another product (third option)
  2. A modal window will open.

4. Select Source Product

In the modal window:

  1. Select your Storefront (your current store).
  2. Click the dropdown labeled “Please search and select product to take content from.”
  3. Choose the product whose reviews you want to reuse.

This means:

  • The current product = destination
  • The selected product = source of reviews

5. Select Variants (If Applicable)

  • After selecting a product, any available variants will appear.
  • Select the variants you want to include.
  • If no variants are needed, you can leave this as default.

6. Save Content Mapping

  1. Click Save in the modal window.

Once saved:

  • The current product will now display reviews from the selected source product.

📍 How to Confirm Content Mapping is Active

After saving:

  1. Go back to the Products list.
  2. Open the mapped product again.
  3. You will see a Content Mapping indicator showing:
    • The product is pulling reviews from another product (e.g., Product A → Product B)

You may also see a message indicating:

  • “Reviews of Product B are currently used for this product page.”

⚙️ Managing Content Mapping

If content mapping is enabled, you will see a Manage option.

Click Manage to:

  • Edit the source product
  • Change selected variants
  • Remove content mapping

❌ Removing Content Mapping

To delete content mapping:

  1. Click Manage.
  2. Select Delete Content Mapping.
  3. Confirm the action in the popup window.

⚠️ Important:

  • This action is irreversible.
  • Once deleted, content mapping must be set up again from scratch.

🛠️ Troubleshooting

Reviews are not showing after mapping

  • Ensure the source product actually has approved reviews.
  • Confirm the mapping was saved successfully.

Wrong product reviews are showing

  • Double-check the selected source product in the mapping settings.
  • Reopen Manage and update the selection if needed.

Cannot find a product in the dropdown

  • Ensure the product exists in the same storefront.
  • Verify the product is properly imported into the system.
